2007 Nissan Sentra makes debut at NAIAS

The all-new 2007 Nissan Sentra made its World debut at the 2006 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.  The sixth generation Sentra is built on Nissan’s new Global “C” platform, which is shared with Renault.  It is now larger in every dimension than the outgoing model.

Exterior styling appears mainstream and more aerodynamic than the previous model.  Interior utility has been improved with such features as a 60/40-split rear seat, available hidden trunk storage compartment and integrated overhead compact disc holder.  Sentra will offer interesting options ranging from leather-appointed seating, a Rockford Fosgate-powered premium audio system with 8 speakers to the convenience of Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System.

Under the hood is an all-new, 2.0-liter, DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine with an estimated 135-plus horsepower and an estimated 140-plus lb-ft of torque. Mated to this engine is a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional fuel-efficient Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Well equipped with power door locks and windows, side-impact curtain air bags and air conditioning, it is expected to have a MSRP starting at around $16,000 CDN.

The 2007 Nissan Sentra is slated to hit showrooms sometime during the 3rd quarter of 2006.
