2016 Cadillac CT6 pricing announced in Canada

The all new 2016 Cadillac CT6 will officially launch in March, 2016. The new premium sedan sheds a V8 engine option, at least for the initial introduction. Starting production in January, the new luxury sedan hopes to achieve the “dynamic performance, efficiency, and agility” that General Motors claims has been previously unseen in premium cars as large as the CT6.

In the Canadian market the base 2.0L Turbo option is priced at $61,245 while the Platinum model with the same engine will cost an additional $33,375 at $94,620. However, these figure do not include the $1,950 destination freight fee or the possible engine expansions. The base model with a 3.6L V6 and AWD will cost $63,570, whereas the upgraded 3.0L Twin Turbo V6 model will start at $73,103. All three engine options are available with an eight-speed automatic transmission on the base model. It appears that that is where the similarities between these engines end as the 3.0L Twin Turbo V6 engine is rated at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque while the 3.6L V6 option touts 335 horsepower. According to G.M. the 2.0L four cylinder option is “award-winning” therefore implying that we are already familiar with its performance.

Inside the cabin, Cadillac highlights technological strides with the inclusion of a Rear Camera Mirror, Enhanced Night Vision, and an impressive 34 speaker sound system provided by home audio giant Bose. On top of all of these engine options Cadillac claims that there will also be a plug in hybrid option that will be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch.

Cadillac is very confident that their new luxury sedan will not only impress the critics with its agility and new in-cabin advances but also the buying public with its relatively affordable entry model and easy and relaxed eight-speed transmission.
